Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter, and musician from England. He was part of One Direction. The son of Des Styles (father) and Anne Cox, Harry Styles was born February 1, 1994, in Holmes Chapel. Harry Styles was a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School where as well as three of his classmates, he founded his own group, White Eskimo. The group was part of the Battle of Bands where thanks to their outstanding performances, they took home the trophy. Even though he had always expressed an interest in the world of music, despite his passion in it, he also wanted to pursue a career as a lawyer and an physiotherapist. In order to support his family, he took a short time working part-time at a bakery. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition where he sang the Stevie Wonder's track Is not She Lovely. This was the reason that his band broke up. The audition was held on The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles be part of a future band that would be called One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored the young group in the year 2010. The group performed hits like My Life Would Suffer Without You which was written by Kelly Clarkson, and Total Eclipse of the Heart, by Bonnie Tyler during the competition. The group was one of the potential winners to win the award. They came third place, just behind Rebecca Ferguson. Harry Styles was not the winner. Cowell was a millionaire in a contract for One Direction.
